Financial Stability

The Financial Stability Working Group aims to better understand the financial system currently evolving before our eyes. We both look back to understand what caused the recent financial crisis and others before it, and, thoroughly study economic change in order to glimpse the future.

Seven years have passed since the financial crisis of 2007 – 2009. Since then, authorities around the world have been working to make the financial system safe and sound. The system we have today looks different than before 2007, but exactly how is it different? And, more importantly, is it safer?

The Financial Stability Working Group aims to better understand the financial system currently evolving before our eyes. We both look back to understand what caused the recent financial crisis and others before it, but also thoroughly study the ongoing changes as we try to peer into the future.

In this working group, Young Scholars gather to review a collection of books and papers, discuss with prominent guest speakers, ask questions, and share ideas to develop a deeper understanding of and greater appreciation for our global financial system.
