Guillaume Amblard

Guillaume Amblard is currently investing and advising start-ups in the fin tech industry in London, New York, and Paris. He left banking in 2015 after a 25-year career with BNP Paribas in London, New York, and Tokyo. His most recent position at BNPP was the global head of the Foreign Exchange and Emerging Markets business and global head of Fixed Income Trading (interest rate, credit, and FX). He was also the global head responsible for quantitative and electronic research as well as macro proprietary trading. Guillaume was a member of the BNPP Group G100 management team, the Bank Capital Market Risk Committee, and the Fixed Income Committee. He also served as the bank representative on the ISDA board.

In the fin tech arena, Guillaume works with a range of companies in areas including equity/loan consumer and SME crowd-funding platforms, remittance payments, account receivable SAS, credit analytics, AI-based trading and asset allocation, and algorithmic detection of fraud in the financial sector. On a broader basis, Guillaume is interested in exponential technologies and organizations and their positive and negative disruptive effects on the economy, society, and the environment.

Guillaume is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he received a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and a master’s degree in Operations Research. He is involved with the Euro50 think-tank of central bankers, politicians, economists, and financial industry experts, as well as the Pi Capital group.

He is concerned in finding the right balance between local and global governance in areas such as finance, the environment, pandemics, and cybersecurity, as well as defining proper Key Performance Indicators for policies to foster inclusive growth, sustainable financial market stability, and global pricing and management of natural resources. Guillaume is also an enthusiastic student of theology and philosophy.
