Hyun-U Sohn is a Ph.D. candidate of Prof. Sornette at ETH Zurich, with Prof. Motolese of UCSC Milan serving as co-referee. He has a formal background in operations research and economics, undertook self-studies in mathematics and computer science, and received CFA and FRM charters from previous work in the financial industry. He aims at adapting nonstandard (from an economist’s viewpoint) results and tools to reevaluate existing economic models, esp. pertaining to expectations and aggregation of heterogeneous agents. His doctoral research focuses on bubbles and crashes.
